About the Journal

Fuwukari International Journal of Sociology and Development (FUWIJSD) is the official journal of the Department of Sociology, Faculty of Social Sciences, Federal University Wukari, Taraba State, Nigeria. FUWIJSD is an open-access, double-blind peer-reviewed, bi-annual international journal dedicated to advancing theoretical and empirical scholarship in all areas of Sociology and Development Studies.

The journal aims to provide fresh insights into contemporary sociological discourse and contribute meaningfully to the development of sociological theories, research, and knowledge at local, national, and global levels. FUWIJSD welcomes high-quality scholarly contributions that address emerging social issues, development challenges, governance, inequality, social transformation, culture, migration, crime, gender relations, health, technology, environmental concerns, and other interdisciplinary dimensions of social life.

FUWIJSD reflects the intellectual vision and scholarly dedication of the Department of Sociology toward promoting critical discussions and advancing informed understanding of the diverse challenges, contradictions, and evolving dimensions of development in contemporary societies. The journal acknowledges that the increasing influence of global capitalism, persistent social inequalities, rapid technological advancement, and the emergence of powerful socio-economic elites continue to transform social structures, human relationships, and patterns of interaction both within and across nations.
